Remove location data from a photo

A photo may reveal more than the pixels show. Device details, capture time, editing software, and precise GPS coordinates can travel with the file. Inspect that metadata, remove it, and verify the cleaned copy before you share it.

Do it step by step

    Open the Image Metadata Remover and select the photo you intend to share.

    Review the readable metadata, paying particular attention to GPS fields.

    Download a cleaned copy with the metadata removed.

    Open that copy in the metadata viewer and confirm the sensitive fields no longer appear.

Before you start

Metadata removal cannot hide what is visible in the image. Check for faces, house numbers, reflections, landmarks, screens, and readable documents separately.
