Compress files for email

Attachment limits are unforgiving. A document that is only slightly too large can stop the whole message, but aggressive compression can make text unreadable. Use the control that fits the format, aim for the smallest reduction that clears the limit, and inspect the result before sending it.

Do it step by step

    Check whether you are sending an image, a PDF, or several separate files.

    For a photo, open Image Compressor and choose either a target size or a quality percentage.

    For a document, use PDF Compressor or start with the Shrink PDF preset.

    Open the compressed result and inspect small text, diagrams, and photographs.

    If you still have several files, create a ZIP only when the recipient expects an archive.

Before you start

A ZIP rarely reduces JPEG images, MP3 audio, or PDFs that are already compressed. Resize or recompress those files before packaging them.
