# SwiftFiles reference SwiftFiles is a privacy-first browser application developed by K-Space. Its 65 tools cover everyday image, PDF, audio, text, and archive work. Smart Pipeline connects compatible operations, saves configurations in local browser storage, imports or exports them as JSON, and shares a configuration through a URL. Saved configurations and shared links contain instructions, not user files. ## Processing and privacy Supported operations run in the browser. SwiftFiles does not depend on a processing API and does not upload selected file contents, filenames, passwords, or extracted text to its own servers. Work is performed with JavaScript, browser APIs, WebAssembly, and focused libraries such as pdf-lib, PDF.js, FFmpeg.wasm, JSZip, libarchive.js, and Web Audio APIs. The site still loads application code, fonts, analytics, advertising, and other resources over the network. Coarse analytics events help the maker see whether tools open, process, and finish successfully. These events must not contain file contents, filenames, passwords, or text from user files. The current policy is at https://www.swiftfiles.org/privacy. Local processing does not remove browser or hardware limits. Available memory, CPU speed, format support, and file complexity all affect what a device can finish. Large PDFs and archives, long recordings, and high-resolution images can use substantial memory. ## Product surfaces - Main website and 65 tools: https://www.swiftfiles.org - Smart Pipeline: https://www.swiftfiles.org/pipeline - Task-based workflow library: https://www.swiftfiles.org/workflows - Embeddable file-tool widgets: https://www.swiftfiles.org/widget - Firefox add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/swiftfiles-local-file-tools/ - Public project repository: https://github.com/Deusrazen/swiftfiles ## Categories and representative tasks Image tools resize, crop, rotate, compress, and convert images. They also remove metadata, generate favicons, optimize SVG files, apply filters, and process batches. Start at https://www.swiftfiles.org/image. PDF tools merge, split, rotate, delete, and organize pages. Other operations convert images to PDF, extract pages as images, add watermarks or page numbers, flatten forms, and apply supported protection. Start at https://www.swiftfiles.org/pdf. Audio tools convert, cut, and merge recordings; change speed or pitch; adjust volume; apply fades; analyze BPM; extract audio from video; and edit common MP3 ID3 metadata. Start at https://www.swiftfiles.org/audio. Text tools count, compare, sort, deduplicate, and change text. They also format JSON, convert CSV and JSON, encode or decode Base64, generate passwords, and extract supported text. Start at https://www.swiftfiles.org/text. Archive tools inspect and extract supported archives, create ZIP files, work with TAR and GZIP, and inspect ISO images. Start at https://www.swiftfiles.org/archive. ## Compatibility and limitations Support varies by tool, format, and browser. Each tool page is the authority for accepted input, available output, and known limits. For example, the metadata editor handles common MP3 ID3 fields, not WAV, FLAC, M4A, or OGG tags. Local archive extraction protects the archive from an upload service, but it cannot prove unknown contents are safe. Removing EXIF metadata does not hide identifying information that remains visible in the pixels. ## Languages The interface is available in English, French, Spanish, Dutch, Hindi, Brazilian Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese. Locale-prefixed pages follow the same local-processing model. ## Contact and verification - About and technical overview: https://www.swiftfiles.org/about - Privacy policy: https://www.swiftfiles.org/privacy - Terms: https://www.swiftfiles.org/terms - Contact: contact@swiftfiles.org
